Just Listen Post #9 - Visualization
So if you read my 10th post you would know that Annabel spent the evening with Mallory and Owen doing photo shoots. Well the picture that I created in my mind was when Mallory was showing Annabel around her room and showing her all the pictures of models and how she had a bunch of Annabel hanging up. I could picture this moment because I know what it is like to look at a lot of modeling pictures- I watch America's Next Top Model a lot. Well then Owen comes in and he never noticed that there was pictures of Annabel in his sister's room. So he takes a moment to look at them. FInally he says it doesn't look like her at all and he says he doesn't like that girl, and that he likes the girl sitting in front of him. He also said that in those pictures it wasn't her, it was just a bunch of make up and crap. Annabel also realized this too. So I could just picture them there sitting on Mallory's bed talking about this. Now everytime I pick up this book I will always remember this moment when it really meant something for Annabel and Owen and how this was the first step in their relationship together.
Just Listen Post #10 - Prediction
Okay well tomorrow is the last day for this project, and I didn't get to finish Just Listen, so now I will make my final prediction on what there is left to come... I just finished reading chapter 11 and Mallory and all of her friends were having the photo shoot. Well it turns out that Owen had to be the photographer, so Annabel decides to stay and help. One of the girls had a breakdown because she didn't get to wear what she wanted so Annabel decides to help her and pick out another outfit for the girl to wear. When she goes and changes, Owen come in and says to Annabel that it was nice of her to help the girl find something new. And then all of a sudden they have their first kiss. But the bad thing about it was that the girl finishes getting dressed and come in and interrupts. Then another thing is that Owen jumped when she came in and hit his head off the door. By the end of the night the were about to kiss again but they kept getting interrupted.
So my prediction for the rest of the book is that Owen and Annabel will start to become "boyfriend and girlfriend". Also that she will decide to keep on going with modeling because when she was in Mallory's bedroom there were pictures cut out of magazines of models all over her room, you couldn't even see the walls. When Annabel got home here and Whitney (one of her sisters) had a conversation about modeling. And how they never were like Mallory being all obsessed with it before they got to do it. So I think she will decide to stick with it since it is kind of stuck with her.

Just Listen Post #8- Visualization
After Annabel and Owen and Rolly went to the waffle house, Annabel remembered she had on Owen's jacket because it was freezing in the waffle house. She went through his pockets, and found his iPod. This was the one thing you would never see Owen without it. So Annabel decides to go through the songs; she looks at his playlists and there is one that says Annabel. It has all the kind of music she likes. She wants to return it to him so she ends up going to his house to give it back to him. Now this is the part that I could visualize really easily: When Annabel went to go open the door to his house, Mallory was there. I don't know if I have mentioned this before but Mallory is Owen's younger sister that is obsessed with Annabel because she does modeling and she always sees the commercials that Annabel is in. Okay, now this is the part I could picture. When Annabel opened the door Mallory and a bunch of her friends were there. Mallory had on "... an incredible amount of makeup: base eyeliner and shadow, way too much rouge, and fake eyelashes, one of which was unpasted and sticking to her eyebrow. She also had on a tight, strapless black dress and very high-heeled sandals..." If you cannot imagine this than I don't know what. And her friends were all dressed up in that way too. They explained to Annabel that they were getting ready for their photo shoot they were about to do. Now that Annabel had showed up they wanted to have her help them with their poses. This little scene was easy for my to picture because Mallory wasn't usually dressed up like that, and she was pretty good about fashion; like what's in or what's out. I also thought that it was a little funny to on how they described her.
Just Listen Post #7- Connection to Life
On this post I am going to relate to my life. In Just Listen, Owen invites Annabel to go out with breakfast with him and his friend, Rolly. When they went out, Rolly was talking about his job. He lets people punch him and hit him to get their anger out, but he has protecters so he doesn't get hurt. Anyways, he was tell Annabel that he met the girl of his dreams doing it. This is how it went: one day Rolly's boss wanted to go to the mall and have people try it, (punching Rolly). Well this sweet girl comes with a bunch of friends. They didn't want to hit him, so they didn't do it. But that one girl just walked up to him and punched him in the neck, then walked off. Rolly said that girl was amazing, but he never got a chance to get her name or anything. A couple weeks later, Rolly and Owen were at a club and Rolly noticed the girl there. He was going to go and introduce himself to her but he was to afraid. But then her sweater fell off the back of her chair and she didn't noticed. Owen made a plan with him that Rolly was going to go and pick t up for her and then start having a conversation. It was meant to be. But then he choked up so he didn't do it because he was too scared. And he never say her again.
So I am relating this to my life because I have had this happen to me before. I have seen the most amazing person in the world and smile at him then never ever see them again. You think your dreaming when you meant them, but once they are gone, it sucks. So I can relate to Rolly and how he felt. I feel bad for him, but it still happens.

Forget Me Not Post #6- Connection to the World
For this post I am comparing pet spa's and hotel's in the book and how it relates to things like that in the real world. In the book, Willa's best friends friend that Willa doesn't like that much is fixing up the old funeral home across the street from Willa's house and is turning it into a dog spa and hotel. Willa and her friend Rachel do not like the idea. I am comparing it to real life because I have felt that way about pet spa's and hotel's here. One day I was in my car listening to the radio with my mom and the person was talking about how there was a new hotel in Texas that was for house pets. I remember thinking it was a crazy idea. They had everything for the pets. Some were like: messages, daily bath, pools for dogs, playhouse just for cats and a bunch of other things. It is just so strange that there would be hotels and spas just for animals. I can relate to how Willa and Rachel feel about this.

Just Listen Post #5- Prediction
Since I haven't finished this book yet I am going to make a prediction on what I think is going to come next. Right now I am at the part where Annabel and Owen see each other everyday and people have started to make up names for them; one of them is Beauty and the Beast. So my prediction is going to be that Annabel and Owen will get even more tighter, well more than they already are.But then they will get too close, then maybe they will become a couple. But then if they get too close they will fight a lot, and that wouldn't turn out good, since Owen has Anger Management. And then Annabel will finally confront her mom about modeling and how she doesn't want to do it anymore with the help of Owen. I also think that Sophie and Clarke will never be friends again. But I do think that Annabel with also confront Sophie about the rumor that made them not be friends anymore.
Just Listen
The third book that I am reading is Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. As you can tell I really enjoy reading her books. This one is about a high-school girl who does modeling. She loses her 2 best friends all because of a rumor. She meets this guy and they have a lot in common. They become friends. If you want to know more details.. read the book!

Forget Me Not Post #3- Connection to my Life
My next post I am going to do is going to relate to my life. In Forget Me Not, Willa's dad dies from getting stung by a jellyfish in the ocean. I am relating this to my life because when my family goes to the beaches in Cape Cod every summer, we always end up seeing jelly fishes. They always come out in August when the water is starting to get a little warmer. The thing is though that these jelly fishes are tiny and they don't have stingers. They can fit in the palm of your hand and they are incredibly slimy. They are clear, so you can see right through them. So since they don't sting you, Willa's dad must have been swimming really far out to have a jelly fish come and sting you. All because of her dad dyeing from a jelly fish, Willa is afraid to go into the ocean and swim.

Forget Me Not Post #4- Prediction
At the end of Forget Me Not Willa is on the beach by herself. She is sad because JFK has left her for the month to go to baseball camp in Florida. Salty's owner has claimed him from the pound. As she is walking down the Spit she sees a boy that looks a little older than her. He starts talking to Willa about books, she says he looks familiar to her but she doesnt know where she has seen him. Then she remembered he was the guy spying on her in the window He said he has been watching her for the past week. When they are talking Willa heard a dog barking, it was Salty. Then they keep talking and the guy says something to Willa using her name. She asked how he new her name but didnt get to finish because all of a sudden JFK comes running to Willa, she thought he had left to go to Florida already, but his plane got overbooked. The JFK turned to the guy asking him who he was. The guy says dont worry, I'm not her boyfriend, I'm her brother. The it says TO BE CONTINUED.
So now I am going to make a prediction about the next book to come. I think since Willa thought she was an only child she will be so shocked. Her mother has never mentioned her brother. Neither has her dad since he was dead from a jelly fish stinger. I think will find out her dad was never really dead, then he left her and her mom. Then her dad went to go get remarried and had another child with someone else.

Keeping the Moon Post #2- Connecting to the World
My next post I am going to do is connecting to the world. In Keeping the Moon Colie, as you know, was fat. When she is living with her aunt, Colie notices that people treat her aunt the same way they did whan Colie was fat. (Aunt Mira is fat)And Colie starts getting mad and embarrased for Mira because she doesnt do anything about it. When Aunt Mira isnt around, COlie hears her neighbors talking about her, about how she dresses, and her old run-down bike. Colie asks Mira how she puts up with they way they treat her, and that what they say must hurt so much since she had to go through it to. But all Mira says is that it doesnt hurt her and never has.
"Look at me, Colie," she said, gesturing down at her big yellow shirt and leggings, her little purple high-tops. "I've always known who I am. I might not work perfectly, or be like them, but that's okay. I know I work in my own way."
I am connecting this little scene to the world because this happens so much in everyones life. I have witnessed people talking about other people behind there backs, and all the mean stuff they say. I am sure everyone has seen this too. Everyone, one way or another, has had this happen to them. Some people keep it to themselves and dont do anything about it like Aunt Mira did. Or others will not put up with it and say something about it. I have heard a lot of people tell me not to change my apperance to impress somebody else. And I do things that I like to do, not someone else. Everyone in the world can relate to Colies and Aunt Miras conversation.

Keeping The Moon Post #1- Visualization
One part in the book that I could really imagine was when Isabel, Morgan, and Colie had their first Chick Night together. They decided they needed one since Morgan was not in a good mood since Mark (her fiance) only came to stay with her for the night then left in the morning without staying for breakfast.
It was towards the end of the night-the part I could visualize. It was the night before Forth of July, so Morgan, Isabel, and Colie went to the beach where there were fireworks and bonfires. I could just imagine how fun it would be. On a cool night, hearing the waves swish back and forth, all different colors and shapes lighting the sky. I think it is a picture perfect moment. But the perfectness doesn't stop there-Colie runs in to this boy, literally runs into him. It is so easy to picture, this really cute guy coming and bumping into you and from there amazing things happen. Well anyways, after they bumped into each other they started some small talk.
The part that stuck out the most was when the guy, Josh, called over Colie to come sit with him at the bonfire. Right when she was about to get up and go over she saw Caroline (the girl who always picked on Colie when she was fat). She was next to Josh, laughing and having a good time with her friends and other guys. Colie hesitated, but Josh still was telling her to come over. Then Caroline figured out what Josh was doing, she started laughing and said to Josh I cant believe this. Isabel recognized Caroline too, but she still pushed Colie to going over there. So Colie stood up and went over. When she got there Caroline called Colie a-not so good word- and that everyone at home knows it, then said to Colie that she was pathetic. This is what Colie said back, "And your such a (female dog), I feel sorry for you, Caroline." "I hate you" she replied back. The Colie said to her, "You should get over that, it's unhealthy. Just let it go." Caroline's mouth fell open. After that little incident, Isabel came and got Colie to tell her they were leaving. Josh came running to Colie as she was going and said I'm sorry, don't mind my cousin. He also said that they should hang out sometime too.
To me this was really easy to visualize. That moment showed how strong Colie is on the inside.

So Far in Keeping The Moon...
I am on page 90, so I will fill you in on what has happened. The book is about this teenage girl named, Colie. She and her mom used to be obese. Everybody at school would make fun of Colie, they would call her hurtful names and everything. Her mom go involved in a Gym. She started working out their and teaching classes, then got Colie to do them too. They both lost a bunch of weight, no longer obese. Here mom is now known as the famous Kiki Sparks; the fitness guru.
For the summer Colie has to move to North Carolina with her Aunt Mira, while her mom is out getting interviewed around the world. Her aunt and Norman (her neighbor/friend) are art freaks, they go to yard sales 24/7. All the things in Aunt Mira's house is somewhat broken, and she never has the time to fix them. As the book goes on, Colie gets a job at the Last Chance. (a restaurant that Aunt Mira is in love with and Norman also works their.) She meets 2 people that she has to work with. Their names are Morgan and Isabel. They live together. (Morgan is older the Colie and Isabel.) Morgan is more nice, while Isabel judges people, well not really judge people but ask why they have/ wear the things that they do.
The part that I just finished reading was, one day when Colie was working with Isabel, because Morgan has the day off. When the lunch rush was all over a couple of teenage girls came in for a take-out. Colie thought she recognized her voice. When she ran into her it was Caroline. She is a girl at Colie's old school where she used to live that always made fun of her and called her names about being fat. Colie thought she was going to change and not make fun of her, but when she sees Colie she starts to laugh. Caroline goes and tells her friend about what she used to call her and everything. Isabel noticed this little incadent and takes Colie to her house. She decides to give her a new look- pluck her eyebrows, and fix her hair color.
That's all for right now... if you want more information guess you are just going have to read the book.
